Foreign National Arrested at BIA with Cocaine Worth Rs. 97 Million

COLOMBO (News 1st): A 66-year-old Bosnian national has been arrested by Sri Lanka customs at Bandaranaike International Airport Katunayake for attempting to smuggle 2.759 kg of cocaine into the country.

The drug, valued at Rs. 97 million, was hidden in his suitcase. 

Customs officials reported that the suspect had travelled from Colombia, arriving in Sri Lanka via Doha, Qatar, early this morning. 

The suspect, along with the cocaine, has been handed over to the Police Narcotics Bureau at the Airport for further investigation.
