COLOMBO (News 1st) - The Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC) has confirmed that fuel distribution operations will continue today, despite it being a non-working day, to ensure a steady supply across the island.
In Badulla, fuel was distributed to CPC filling stations this morning without any issues, and no fuel queues were observed.
Local residents have reported that there is no fuel shortage.
People have been able to refill their fuel tanks as usual, with no disruptions.
Similar scenes were witnessed in Hatton, where no fuel queues were seen.
Though some initially reported seeing queues, it was attributed to the spread of false rumors.
The local fuel supply is sufficient, and authorities have urged the public not to panic unnecessarily.
In Anuradhapura, the CPC Lanka Bulk Depot continued its operations today, despite it being a Sunday.
Fuel distribution was carried out smoothly, with petrol, diesel, and kerosene readily available.
The depot has received a steady supply of fuel from Colombo and is also distributing fuel to Jaffna, ensuring that there are no disruptions in supply.
The public is advised to remain calm and trust that fuel distribution is continuing as usual, with no shortages in sight.
