COLOMBO (News 1st) - Four investigation teams have been appointed to probe the shooting incident in Kirindiwita, Gampaha.
Two people arrived on a motorcycle and opened fire last night, targeting two people at a motorcycle spare parts shop.
Both victims sustained injuries and were admitted to Gampaha Hospital.
The victims have been identified as 36-year-old Chamara Nadi Sadaruwan, the owner of the motorcycle shop, and 30-year-old Asitha Devinda, an assistant at the shop.
Police said that the shop owner, Chamara Nadi Sadaruwan, received several threatening phone calls yesterday from a person named Thammita Sumith, who is currently residing abroad.
Police added that Thammita Sumith is associated with Ganemulla Sanjeewa, who was recently murdered at Courtroom No. 5 at the Hulftsdorp court complex.
