COLOMBO (News 1st) - A woman involved in drug trafficking was apprehended at a hotel in Anuradhapura.
The suspect was arrested following a tip-off which claimed that, Ishara Sewwandi, the prime suspect in the courtroom assassination of Ganemulle Sanjeewa, was staying at a hotel in Anuradhapura.
Police reported that the suspect closely resembles Ishara Sewwandi.
During the raid, various quantities of heroin and ice (methamphetamine) were found in her possession.
Additionally, 15 mobile phones used by the suspect were seized by the police.
The authorities also confiscated three luxury vehicles believed to belong to the suspect. The 35-year-old woman is a resident of the Anuradhapura area.
