COLOMBO (News 1st) - Health authorities warn that the risk of Leptospirosis (Rat fever) has significantly increased due to recent rainy conditions in several areas.

More Leptospirosis cases have been reported in 2024 compared to the previous year.

Those particularly at risk include farmers engaged in cultivation activities in muddy and waterlogged areas, individuals affected by floods, people frequently working in paddy fields, and those employed in mines or other water-related occupations.
