Police Arrest Nine in Connection with Dan's Death

COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lanka Police arrested nine individuals in connection with the murder of Dan Priyasad, a candidate for the Kolonnawa Pradeshiya Sabha from the Sri Lanka Podujana Peramuna (SLPP).

The suspects are currently being interrogated by the police, with investigations being conducted by the Wellampitiya Police and the Western Province (South) Crime Division.

Dan Priyasad was shot on April 22nd at the Laksanda Sevana housing complex in Salmulla, Kolonnawa. He sustained severe injuries and was admitted to the Colombo National Hospital, where he later succumbed to his injuries.

The police suspect that the murder may have been motivated by a personal dispute. 

In connection with the case, the Colombo Magistrate's Court has imposed a travel ban on a father and son duo who are believed to be involved in the murder. The police have reported that these suspects fled the area following the incident.
