Public Funds Must Not Return to Corrupt Hands : PM

Colombo (News 1st); Prime Minister Dr. Harini Amarasuriya says public funds saved through the hard work and sacrifices of the people must never fall into the hands of the corrupt.

Speaking at a National People’s Power rally in Veyangoda yesterday, the Prime Minister stressed the need for strong, honest local leadership, especially in rural areas that have long been neglected.

She said the government inherited serious economic challenges, but through careful management and reducing waste, it has begun to stabilize the economy and redirect funds back to the people.

Dr. Amarasuriya said this progress must be protected and called for a pradeshiya sabha that truly represents the needs of the people.
