COLOMBO (News 1st): A British national was apprehended by Sri Lanka Customs Officials at the Bandaranaike International Airport in Katunayake.
She was apprehended for attempting to smuggle a large stock of Kush cannabis into the country illegally, with an estimated street value of Rs. 460 million.
According to Sri Lanka Customs, a total of 46 kilograms of Kush Cannabis was discovered hidden inside two of her travel luggage.
The suspect, a 21-year-old British national, had arrived in Sri Lanka from Bangkok, Thailand on a SriLankan Airlines flight.
The suspect has been handed over to the officers of the Police Narcotics Bureau at Bandaranaike International Airport in Katunayake, for further investigation.
