SL-US Tariff Talks in Washington on May 27–28

COLOMBO (News 1st) - Discussions regarding the tariffs imposed on Sri Lanka are scheduled to take place on May 27 and 28 in Washington, D.C., as part of ongoing efforts to strengthen bilateral trade relations between the two countries.

A delegation led by Deputy Minister of Finance and Planning, Harshana Suriyapperuma, will represent Sri Lanka in the talks. 

The team is expected to depart for the U.S. ahead of the scheduled meetings.

This marks the second round of discussions, reflecting continued diplomatic engagement and economic dialogue between Sri Lanka and the United States.

The talks are being held at the invitation of the Office of the U.S. Trade Representative (USTR), which oversees international trade policy and negotiations on behalf of the U.S. government.
