Duminda Dissanayake Out Of Hospital & Back To Prison

COLOMBO (News 1st); Former Minister Duminda Dissanayake, who was recently remanded in connection with the discovery of a gold-colored T-56 assault rifle, has been transferred back to Magazine Prison following a medical evaluation.

According to Prisons Spokesman Gamini B. Dissanayake, the former minister was initially admitted to the prison hospital on court orders for medical treatment. 

After being examined by a specialist doctor, he was deemed fit to return to regular remand custody.

Dissanayake was arrested last week after police recovered the weapon from an apartment complex in Wellawatte. He was presented before the court the following day and subsequently remanded.
