COLOMBO (News 1st): SriLankan Engineering, the Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) arm of SriLankan Airlines, has achieved a significant milestone by receiving certification from the Civil Aviation Authority of Thailand (CAAT) as a Foreign Repair Station and Approved Maintenance Organization (AMO).
This prestigious accreditation enables SriLankan Engineering to directly offer its high-quality, cost-effective MRO services to Thai-registered airlines and global aircraft leasing companies. The certification covers a wide range of services including:
- Base maintenance and heavy checks for Airbus A320 family aircraft
- Line maintenance for Airbus A320, A350, Boeing 777, and 787 aircraft
- Component repair and overhaul - Non-destructive testing (NDT)
With this new recognition, SriLankan Engineering is strategically positioned to collaborate with Thai carriers and lessors, offering tailored maintenance solutions that reduce Aircraft On Ground (AOG) time and improve operational efficiency.
