Man Arrested with T-56 Rifle in Mattakkuliya

COLOMBO (News 1st) - A suspect was arrested with a T-56 firearm in the Sampithpura area of Mattakkuliya.

Police stated that 29 rounds of T-56 ammunition were also recovered from his possession.

The arrest was made by officers of the Colombo North Division Criminal Investigation Bureau.

The suspect is a 36-year-old resident of Mattakkuliya.

The raid was conducted as part of the ongoing island-wide drug and crime prevention operation under the instructions of the Acting Inspector General of Police.
