IGP Tennakoon Report to Enter Parliament Order Book

COLOMBO (News 1st);The report of the investigation committee appointed on IGP Deshabandhu Tennakoon is scheduled to be included in the Parliament's order book next Friday.

Parliament stated that the report must be added to the order book five working days after being tabled.

Speaker Dr. Jagath Wickramaratne recently outlined the procedure for removing IGP Deshabandhu Tennakoon from office.

The committee, appointed to probe allegations of misconduct, unanimously found Tennakoon guilty of the charges cited in a motion signed by 115 MPs.

Accordingly, the debate on the investigation report is set to take place on August 5.
