Ministry of Labour to Amend EPF Act

COLOMBO (News 1st): The Ministry of Labour has announced plans to amend the Employees Provident Fund (EPF) Act with the aim of providing enhanced benefits to its beneficaries.

The ministry says that the amendments will focus on improving the surcharge collection mechanism, offering credit facilities to EPF members instead of commercial banks, and addressing inequalities between male and female workers.
