NPP PS Member Released on Bail After Arrest on Obstructing Police Duties in Hingurakgoda

COLOMBO (News 1st): National People's Power Hingurakgoda Pradeshiya Sabha member, Saman Udaya Kumara, who was arrested earlier, has been released on bail.

He was arrested earlier in the day for allegedly obstructing the duty of police officers at the Higurakgoda Police Station, last night.

The MP’s younger brother was arrested yesterday on suspicion of obstructing the duties of Ceylon Electricity Board employees who had visited his residence to disconnect the power supply.

Police stated that the suspect had entered the station and behaved in a disruptive manner, accusing officers of arresting his younger brother.
