Disaster-Hit Religious Sites To Be Restored With Technical Assistance And Grants

COLOMBO (News 1st): The Government of Sri Lanka has decided to recruit technical officers on a contract basis for the restoration of religious sites damaged by the recent disaster.

Deputy Minister of Buddhasasana, Religious, and Cultural Affairs, Gamagedara Dissanayake, said that the relevant cabinet memorandum will be submitted to the next Cabinet meeting.

Cabinet approval has also been granted to provide a Rs. 25,000 grant for cleaning and restoring affected temples to their original condition.
