Gazette Issued to Halt Tolls at Kerawalapitiya Interchange

COLOMBO (News 1st) - An Extraordinary Gazette Notification has been issued to suspend the collection of tolls at the Kerawalapitiya Interchange on the Katunayake Expressway.

Deputy Minister of Transport and Highways Dr. Prasanna Gunasena said the decision was taken to reduce unnecessary traffic congestion in the area.

Accordingly, vehicles entering the Katunayake Expressway from the Outer Circular Road and those entering the Outer Circular Road from the Katunayake Expressway will be able to proceed without stopping to pay tolls at the Kerawalapitiya Interchange.

The new arrangement is expected to be implemented within the next few days.
