Escaped Heroin Suspects Re-Arrested In Kotawila

COLOMBO (News 1st): The two suspects who escaped from the custody of prison officers in Matara have been re-arrested.

Police said the suspects were found hiding in a coconut estate in Mahawatte, Kotawila.

Earlier today, the two suspects had been ordered to be remanded, by the Kotawila Courts in Matara, for the possession of heroin.

While being escorted from the court premises, the two suspects had escaped the custody of prison officials and fled the area.

Police confirmed that the two suspects have now been remanded upon their re-arrest.
