55-Year-Old Cop Nabbed for Drinking While on Duty

COLOMBO (News 1st); A police officer assigned to a roadblock in Vijeyapura, Mount Lavnia, was arrested for consuming alcohol while on duty, according to police sources.

The 55-year-old officer had reportedly been stationed at the checkpoint since yesterday evening and was taken into custody this morning after being found under the influence of alcohol during official duty.

Police confirmed that the suspect will be produced before court later today.
