Suspended Jail Sentences For Illegal Petrol Possession And Sale In Anuradhapura

COLOMBO (News 1st): Two people have been suspended In Anuradhapura, a shop owner and another individual have received suspended prison sentences for the illegal possession and sale of petrol. The ruling was issued by Additional Magistrate D.L. Samarasinghe of Anuradhapura. 

A resident of Mihintale found guilty forillegal posession of petrol, with six bottles of petrol was sentenced to six months in prison and suspended for five years. Meanwhile, the shop owner was fined Rs. 2,500.

In a separate case, a resident of Perimiyankulama was convicted for illegal selling one petrol bottle and illegally possessing six more. He also received a six-month suspended sentence and was fined Rs. 5,000.
