COLOMBO (News 1st) - Sri Lanka Customs has announced that 72,000 metric tons of rice purchased by private importers have been delivered to the country.
Customs Spokesperson Seevali Arukgoda says 32,000 metric tons of raw rice has also been imported in this regard.
Accordingly, 40,000 metric tons of Nadu Rice has also been imported in this regard.
He added that the clearance of stocks of rice that have reached that island have been expedited following the extension of the dealdline to import rice.
