COLOMBO (News 1st) - Compensation for farmers whose crops were affected by the floods in November, 2024 will start today.
The Agricultural and Agrarian Insurance Board said that compensations will be made in Polonnaruwa, Mullaitivu, Vavuniya, and Trincomalee.
A total of 6,234 farmers, whose crops were damaged, will receive compensation.
The government has allocated nearly Rs. 166.7 million for this purpose, with compensation covering 13,379 acres of land.
