COLOMBO (News 1st); Today, a new community project was inaugurated in Puttalam, marking a significant milestone for the village of Mamunagama, in Anamaduwa.
The project, spearheaded by Gammadda, aims to provide essential resources to the Takshila Primary School.
The villagers gathered in a show of solidarity, traveling through the village in a procession to support the initiative.
The primary school, which serves as a beacon of hope for the children, has long faced numerous challenges, including a lack of water and inadequate facilities.
The principal of the school highlighted these issues to the Gammadda team, who, with the full support of Next Manufacturing, turned the dream into reality.
The project includes the construction of a library and a water supply system, both of which were blessed by the Maha Sangha during the foundation-laying ceremony.
Prominent figures such as P.L.M. Chandrika, the Director of Education for the Anamaduwa Division, David Ray, the Production Director of Next Manufacturing, and Bharatha Amarasinghe, the General Manager of Human Resources, were present.
Other notable attendees included Niroshan Bandara, the HR Manager of the Nawagattegama branch, Janitha Mendis, the Digital and New Media Manager of News First, Assistant Superintendent of Police Saman Priyantha, Principal Kithsiri Wijerathna of Takshila Primary School, and Gammadda General Secretary Prasanna Athukorala.
