Special Transport Arrangements for Sinhala and Tamil New Year Announced

COLOMBO (News 1st) - Officials have announced that special transport services will be available for those traveling to their hometowns to celebrate the upcoming Sinhala and Tamil New Year.

Sri Lanka Transport Board Chairman Jeewaka Prasanna confirmed that 500 additional buses will be deployed to meet the increased demand. 

These buses will operate from the Colombo Fort Central Bus Stand, and the special services will continue until the 20th of April.

The Railway Department also revealed that around 40 additional train services will be added starting from the 10th of April. 

These services will operate from the Colombo Fort Railway Station to destinations such as Badulla, Beliatta, Trincomalee, and Anuradhapura.

In addition to these, private bus operators have also arranged special transport services for passengers traveling to their hometowns during the festive season.
