COLOMBO (News 1st); Minister of Public Security and Parliamentary Affairs, Ananda Wijepala, has announced the implementation of special security measures in Kandy city for the upcoming Sri Dalada pilgrimage, scheduled from the 18th to the 28th of this month.
The minister shared these details after visiting Kandy to pay homage to the Sacred Tooth Relic and meeting with the Chief Prelates of the Asgiriya and Malwathu chapters.
"We have planned comprehensive security arrangements for the upcoming exhibition of the Sacred Relics. This includes assessing the necessary environment and facilities required for the event. Discussions have already been held under the leadership of the President in Colombo, and further meetings have taken place in Kandy. The Police Department, Special Task Force, and other security divisions will be deployed to ensure a robust security network throughout the city during these days," stated Minister Wijepala.
