Sri Lanka Air Force Helicopter Crashes into Maduru Oya

COLOMBO (News 1st); A Bell 212 helicopter belonging to the Sri Lanka Air Force (SLAF) has crashed into the Maduru Oya Reservoir earlier today, according to Air Force Spokesperson Group Captain Eranda Geeganage.

The aircraft had taken off from the Hingurakgoda Air Force Base and was en route to the Maduru Oya area for a drill exhibition when the incident occurred.

He confirmed that several members of the Sri Lanka Army’s Special Forces were on board at the time of the crash.
