COLOMBO(News 1st) -The Ministry of Power and Energy has urged the public not to be misled by circulating reports of an impending fuel shortage, particularly those spreading across social media platforms.
In an official statement, the ministry clarified that Sri Lanka possesses sufficient fuel stocks to meet national demand for the next two months, as confirmed by the Ceylon Petroleum Corporation (CPC).
Authorities have also assured that future fuel shipments have been ordered and are expected to arrive without disruption, with all necessary logistical and procurement arrangements in place.
Meanwhile, in light of the ongoing conflict in the Middle East, the ministry has requested the CPC to provide a detailed report on global fuel price trends, to assess potential impacts on Sri Lanka’s energy market.
