Backup Plan In Place For Govt Cloud Outage – ICTA

COLOMBO(News 1st); The Information and Communication Technology Agency (ICTA) says that an alternative program is in place to prevent inconvenience to the public due to the outage of the Sri Lanka Government Cloud Service.

Its Digital Economy Advisor, Sumudu Rathnayake, said that we were previously able to obtain our birth certificates from any Divisional Secretariat office in the country.

However, he said that currently, we can only obtain birth certificates from the Divisional Secretariat of the area of birth.

The number of government institutions affected by the outage of the Lanka Government Cloud service is over 40.

The ICT Agency stated that the online services of a number of institutions such as the Registrar General's Department, the Pensions Department, and the Police Department are also being disrupted.
