Heavy Rainfall Expected in Several Provinces Due to Low-Pressure System

COLOMBO (News 1st); The Department of Meteorology says that heavy rainfall of around 75 millimeters is possible in parts of the Western, Sabaragamuwa, Central, and North Western provinces, as well as in some areas of the Galle and Matara districts.

The department stated that the low-pressure area currently present near the northern coast of Sri Lanka is expected to move NorthWestward, reaching the northern coast of Tamil Nadu.

This was stated by Merril Mendis, Director of the Forecasting Division of the Department of Meteorology.
