Johnston's Son Remanded Over State Property Misuse

COLOMBO (News 1st); Johann Fernando, son of former Minister Johnston Fernando, has been remanded until January 9 after being produced before the Welisara Magistrate’s Court today.

He was arrested yesterday in connection with allegations of misusing state property.

Police said Johann Fernando was taken into custody during a raid in Kumbukwewa, Ibbagamuwa, conducted by the Financial Crimes Investigation Division (FCID).

The charges relate to allegedly deploying a lorry belonging to Sathosa for a private enterprise, violating state property regulations.
