Fatal Road Accidents Claim Two Lives in Pulmoddai and Echchalampattu

COLOMBO(News 1st); A 64-year-old resident of Kolongolla died after his motorcycle veered off the road and fell into a canal in Mahasenpura, Pulmoddai.

In a separate incident, a 21-year-old youth was killed near the Punniyadi Kovil in Echchalampattu when his motorcycle collided with a tractor. According to the Police, the rider lost control of the motorcycle due to high speed, causing it to overturn and crash into a tractor.

Meanwhile, In a significant breakthrough in anti-narcotic operations, a 47-year-old resident of Hambegamuwa has been taken into custody in the Kukulkatuwa Reserve for the possession of illegal narcotics.

During the raid, authorities seized 121 kg and 500 g of cannabis. 

The suspect is currently being held for further questioning by the Hambegamuwa Police.
