Gammadda Launches Cyclone Ditwah Relief Program In Kotmale

COLOMBO (News1st): Gammadda will launch another program aimed at rebuilding and restoring communities affected by Cyclone Ditwah today. 

The new program Gammadda - Care and Dare, will commence in Gamini Dissanayake National School in Kotmale starting at 8:30 a.m. and continuing throughout the day.

Under the new program, a range of essential services will be provided for disaster-affected families, including:

Medical services delivered by the Ministry of Health with the participation of Air Force medical teams
Counseling services
Legal advisory services
Distribution of relief packages

Special advisory services will also be offered for individuals who lost income sources or self-employment opportunities due to the disaster.

The National Apprentice and Industrial Training Authority (NAITA) will partner with Gammadda to provide vocational guidance and training opportunities.

The Kotmale Divisional Secretariat will assist in reissuing vital documents such as birth certificates that were lost during the disaster.

Additionally, the Kotmale Medical Officer of Health Office will provide special services for pregnant mothers and young children.

Further support includes the distribution of dry rations, household items, and hygiene packages for both men and women through Gammadda.
