Vesak Week Declared from May 27 to June 02

COLOMBO (News 1st) - The government has declared the Vesak week from May 27th to June 2nd. 

This year's National Vesak Festival will be held under the theme 'Hasten to do Good'. 

The main national celebrations are set to take place centered around the Midellawala Purana Viharaya in Matara.

The Cabinet of Ministers has approved a proposal submitted by the Minister of State Administration, Provincial Councils, and Local Government to organize and implement various Buddhist religious programs across the country throughout the designated Vesak period.
