CIABOC to Submit Mahinda's Statement To Court

COLOMBO (News 1st); The Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption has announced that statements recorded from former President Mahinda Rajapaksa, former Civil Aviation Minister Priyankara Jayaratne, and Willy Gamage will be submitted to court on the next hearing date.

The Commission further stated that the death of former SriLankan Airlines Chief Executive Officer Kapila Chandrasena does not pose any obstruction to the ongoing investigations into the alleged bribery linked to the Airbus transaction.

Meanwhile, authorities confirmed that a warrant has been issued for Chandrasena’s wife, who is currently residing overseas.

As part of the ongoing inquiry into the bribery allegations, statements were recorded yesterday from former President Mahinda Rajapaksa and former Aviation Minister Priyankara Jayaratne.

The investigation remains ongoing.
