COLOMBO (News 1st); The Public Health Inspectors’ Union has announced that a total of 4,302 dansals have been registered across Sri Lanka in line with the upcoming Poson season.
Association Secretary D.S. Muthukuda stated that the registration process for dansals will officially conclude after noon on Saturday, urging organizers to complete the required formalities within the stipulated timeframe.
He further emphasized that all dansals must strictly adhere to the health guidelines issued by the Ministry of Health, noting that compliance is mandatory to ensure public safety during the festive period.
Meanwhile, the Deputy Inspector General of Police in charge of Road Safety and Traffic, stressed that it is compulsory for organizers to inform the Officer-in-Charge of their respective police stations when planning dansals and decorative thoranas.
He highlighted that these measures are aimed at minimizing road accidents and managing traffic congestion, which often increases due to large crowds and roadside events during the Poson season.
