Ex-Council Members Remanded Over Bribery Charge

COLOMBO (News 1st); Former Western Provincial Council member Salochana Gamage and Dushanta Dinesh Ratnayake have been remanded until the 17th.

This decision was made after they were presented before Colombo Chief Magistrate Tanuja Lakmali.

They were arrested while allegedly accepting a bribe of 9 million rupees to facilitate compensation for a plot of land in the Torrington Avenue area, which had been handed over to the Urban Development Authority.
