Eight Police Teams Investigate Ami Upul’s Murder

COLOMBO (News 1st) - Police have recorded statements from ten individuals in connection with the murder of organized crime figure Ami Upul.

According to the police, Investigations are ongoing using data retrieved from the victim’s mobile phone, while eight police teams have been deployed for the investigation.

Ami Upul was shot dead on the night of the 3rd in the Batuwatta Grama Sanwardana Mawatha area in Ragama.

Police suspect that the shooting may have been carried out by another organized criminal known as Batuwatta Chamara.

Ami Upul was reportedly a close associate of Ganemulla Sanjeewa, another well-known crime figure.
