Easter Attack Mastermind Known to All - Sirisena

COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lanka's Former President Maithripala Sirisena has made a striking revelation, stating that the mastermind behind the 2019 Easter Sunday attacks is known not only to the current government but also to the country’s military and intelligence agencies. 

However, he emphasized that Sri Lanka lacks the capacity to confront this individual.

“We have witnessed serious crimes. My government was destroyed, my reputation tarnished, and my party dismantled—all as part of a larger scheme. That’s why I went to the Criminal Investigation Department to understand how this happened. But the truth is, it’s not something that can be openly discussed.”

The Former President went on to note that despite all the investigations, everyone knows who the mastermind is. 

“Every government knows. The military knows. The intelligence services know. But even if we know where the mastermind is, we do not have the capability to fight him.”

Sirisena warned that the country is heading toward a difficult and painful situation, marked by helplessness and vulnerability.
