COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lanka’s international aviation sector is gearing up for a busy winter season, with several international carriers set to resume or launch operations at Bandaranaike International Airport (BIA) and Mattala Rajapaksa International Airport (MRIA).
Kuwait Airways will resume its scheduled flights to BIA starting October 27, 2025, operating four flights per week.
Meanwhile, Red Wings and Belavia – Belarusian Airlines will commence their winter flight operations to MRIA from October 28, 2025.
Also joining the winter schedule at BIA are Swiss International Air Lines and Enter Air, both launching operations on October 28, 2025.
In response to the growing demand from airline partners, Airport & Aviation Services Sri Lanka (Private) Ltd has announced the addition of 12 new check-in counters at BIA, effective November 1, 2025, as a short-term measure to accommodate the seasonal surge in passenger traffic.
