Four Arrested Over Attempted Shooting of 16-Year-Old in Kohuwala

COLOMBO (News1st): Four suspects were arrested in connection with the attempted shooting of a young woman in Bodhiya Watta, Kohuwala. 

According to the Police, the arrested suspects include the motorcyclist involved in the shooting, the individual in possession of the firearms, the individual who transported the weapons, and the person who provided lodging for the suspects.

During the arrest, police seized three revolvers, ten rounds of 9mm live ammunition, 50 grams of heroin, 55 grams of Ice narcotics and two motorcycles.

The suspects are identified as residents of Dehiwala.

Police said that the shooting was the result of an ongoing conflict between organized crime gangs and large-scale drug traffickers.

The victim, a 16-year-old girl who was brutally injured in the attack, is currently receiving treatment at the Kalubowila Hospital.
