Two Remanded, Gunman Detained Over Alleged Attempted Shooting in Modara

COLOMBO (News1st): Two individuals arrested in connection with an alleged attempt to shoot a businessman in Modara have been remanded for Seven days.

The order was issued after the suspects were produced before the Maligakanda Magistrate's Court.

Police says that the motorcycle used by the suspects has also been taken into custody following a search operation conducted in Modara based on a tip-off.

Meanwhile, the court has granted permission to detain and question the individual identified as the alleged gunman under a 72-hour detention order. The suspect is a 35-year-old resident of Horana and is reportedly a deserter from the Sri Lanka Army.

Additionally, another suspect has been remanded until the 21st of this month. Police said that the suspect is currently receiving treatment at the Colombo National Hospital.
