Sri Lanka Aims for $36 Billion Export Economy by 2030

COLOMBO (News1st): Deputy Minister of Industries and Entrepreneurship Development, Chathuranga Abeysinghe, says that an Export Development Plan is being formulated with the goal of building a USD 36 billion export economy by 2030.

The Deputy Minister made these remarks during a press briefing held in Colombo yesterday to raise awareness regarding the proposed changes to the legal framework of Sri Lanka’s organic agricultural system.

The event was organized by the National Organic Control Unit of the Sri Lanka Export Development Board (EDB), in collaboration with the International Trade Centre (ITC) of the United Kingdom.

The briefing was attended by Deputy Minister of Industries and Entrepreneurship Development Chathuranga Abeysinghe, British Deputy High Commissioner, Theresa O'Mahony,Tom Nizet International Consultant for the International Trade Centre and Mangala Wijesinghe Chairman of the Sri Lanka Export Development Board.
