COLOMBO (News 1st) - The Sri Lanka Transport Board (SLTB) has commenced providing fuel to private buses through its depot network across the island.

SLTB Chairman Sujeewa Kanakaratne stated that fuel distribution will take place at 103 out of the 107 depots nationwide.

He noted that only buses registered with the National Transport Commission (NTC) and currently in operation will be eligible to receive fuel under this system.

Private bus owners are required to verify whether their vehicles are registered with either the National Transport Commission or the respective Provincial Road Passenger Transport Authorities before obtaining fuel.

Following successful verification, eligible bus operators can access the required fuel for their journeys through designated SLTB depots.
