Sri Lanka Launches Digital Asset Declaration System To Boost Transparency

COLOMBO (News 1st): In a significant move toward transparency, the Centralized Electronic System for the Declaration of Assets and Liabilities was officially launched today. 

This initiative marks the complete digitalization of the asset and liability reporting process in Sri Lanka.

The inauguration was attended by several high-ranking officials, including the Director General of the Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption (CIABOC), High Court Judge Ranga Dissanayake, and the Chairman of the Commission, Retired Judge Neil Iddawala, along with UNDP Resident Representative in Sri Lanka Azusa Kubota and Country Director of ADB’s Sri Lanka Resident Mission, Shannon Cowlin.

Speaking at the launch, UNDP Resident Representative in Sri Lanka Azusa Kubota highlighted that Sri Lanka has made notable progress in strengthening governance and transparency, and emphasized that this achievement not only addresses national governance priorities, but also positions Sri Lanka as a world example of how digital innovation can drive transparent practices, further build public confidence, and support inclusive development.
