Five Arrested with Drugs in Four Raids in Mount Lavinia

COLOMBO (News 1st) - Five people, including two women were arrested with drugs during four raids carried out at a housing complex in Mount Lavinia.

The raids were conducted jointly by the Police Special Task Force (STF), Organized Crime Special Operations teams, Sri Lanka Police, and the Army.

Authorities seized 7.840 grams of Kush, 32.130 grams of hashish, 20 pills of “Phil” narcotics, and 4.280 grams of heroin from the suspects.

The STF also seized Rs. 108,400, allegedly earned through drug trafficking.

Among those arrested is a motorcyclist who had reportedly accompanied a gunman who attempted to shoot a person in Dehiwala on the 4th of last month.

The suspects, aged between 20 and 47, are residents of the same housing complex in Mount Lavinia.

The suspects and the seized drugs have been handed over to the Mount Lavinia Police for further investigations.
