Decision On Scheduled Power Cuts To Be Announced Today

COLOMBO (News 1st); The Ceylon Electricity Board (CEB) says a decision on scheduled power cuts for tomorrow will be announced today.

CEB spokesperson Dhammika Wimalaratne says they are studying the situation.

Meanwhile, 03 generators at the Norochcholai power plant are yet to be restored which has resulted in the loss of approximately 900Mw to the National grid.

Currently, hydropower generation is at 30 percent.

Accordingly, the CEB has stated that steps have been taken to manage the electricity supply with available water resources.
