COLOMBO (News 1st); Sri Lanka's Cabinet has approved a Rs. 200 million scholarship initiative to support top-performing students from the GCE Advanced Level (A/L) examination in pursuing their first degree at internationally ranked universities abroad.
Under this program, students will be awarded scholarships to enroll in English-medium undergraduate programs at foreign universities ranked within the top 500 globally, as per recognized international university rankings.
The scholarships will cover up to four years of study.

Eligible students must have achieved the highest Z-scores in key subject streams of the A/L examination.
Selection will be carried out through a rigorous interview process conducted by a panel of university professors and academic experts.
