Three Judges Suspended, Trainees Dismissed

COLOMBO (News 1st); The Judicial Service Commission has suspended three judges from their duties following allegations of misconduct.

The suspensions, which took place over the past week, involve:

Tilina Gamagé, District Judge of Moratuwa, reportedly suspended over the illegal possession of a baby elephant.

Rangani Gamagé, Additional District Judge of Mahiyanganaya, and Mohammad Hamza, former Magistrate of Batticaloa, both suspended due to misconduct-related complaints.

In addition to these suspensions, the Commission has also dismissed three trainee judges from service. 

The decision was based on failure to disclose accurate personal information and other private matters deemed incompatible with judicial responsibilities.
