Mano Ganesan says Sajith Premadasa confirmed that he will Contest Next Presidential Election

COLOMBO (News 1st); Tamil Progressive Alliance Leader Mano Ganesan says Opposition Leader Sajith Premadasa has confirmed his candidacy for the upcoming presidential election during a meeting of party leaders of the Samaji Jana Sandhanaya. 

Responding to journalist Mano Ganesan said that the meeting was attended by Rauff Hakeem, Rishad Bathiudeen, Digambaran, Radhakrishnan, and himself.

When asked whether Sajith Premadasa had in fact confirmed his candidacy, Ganesan said Premadasa clearly said that he was preparing to contest the upcoming presidential election and that he was firmly committed to that decision.

In response to whether his party had expressed a view, Ganesan said the Tamil Progressive Alliance did not give any response, as it only represents a constituent party of the Samagi Jana Sandhanaya, and the decision remains Sajith Premadasa’s right.

When questioned about the likelihood of Premadasa’s success, Ganesan said it was too early to judge and that they would “wait and see.”
