COLOMBO (News 1st); The Colombo High Court has scheduled October 1 as the next hearing date in the high-profile case against former Health Minister Keheliya Rambukwella, his wife, three daughters, and son-in-law, who are accused of illegally acquiring assets during his tenure in public office.

The case was called before High Court Judge Lanka Jayaratne, where the prosecution submitted several requested documents to the defense.

The judge instructed the defense to notify the court within two weeks if additional documents are required, and subsequently fixed the next hearing date.

The case filed under the Prevention of Money Laundering Act, include 43 indictments related to alleged financial misconduct between August 13, 2020, and June 24, 2024, during Rambukwella’s time at the Ministry of Mass Media and Ministry of Health.

The individuals named in the case include:

Keheliya Rambukwella – Former Minister
Kusum Priyadarshani Epawawihena – Wife
Chamithri Jayanika Rambukwella – Daughter
Chandula Ramali Rambukwella – Daughter
Amali Nayanika Rambukwella – Daughter
Isuru Pulasthi Bandara Polgasdeniya – Son-in-law

The Commission to Investigate Allegations of Bribery or Corruption filed the case on June 26.
